Who We Are

Bindon Foundation was started by the Halsted family to facilitate their family’s long-term interests in philanthropy and social impact investment.

Lisa Halsted is a successful entrepreneur, having founded and managed one of the leading businesses in adventure travel and community service trips for teenagers. Lisa’s extensive travel, and experience volunteering with those in need, lead her to focus on the areas of human trafficking and women’s education and empowerment, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.

Lisa has previously served on boards of Daraja Academy, a girls’ school in Kenya, and is a founding member of Friend of Challenging Heights, an organization formed to support the fight against human trafficking and child slavery in Ghana.  Lisa has also served as a board member of Send It, an organization focused on providing outdoor experiences for young adult cancer patients.

Scott Halsted has made a career out of investing in and building startup companies in the health care space.  After a successful 20 year career at Morgan Stanley where he lead Morgan Stanley Ventures’ investments in over 30 health care companies, he founded his own firm, Revelation Partners, which has invested in over 50 emerging health care companies.

Scott has a particular interest in supporting organizations that provide improved health in communities with very limited resources and those focused on improving the environment.
